February 18, 2014 Victoria, BC Canada – The Canadian National Martial Arts Association (CNMAA) is pleased to announce that the following tournaments have been designated as Qualifiers for Team Canada 2014 and the opportunity to compete at the 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Games - September 3 to 7: 

March 15/16, 2014 – Tiger Balm Internationals (North Vancouver)

April 12, 2014 – BC Open Martial Arts Championships (South Surrey)

April 12, 2014 – Provincial Martial Arts Spring Open (Calgary)

April 25, 2014 – Quebec Open Martial Arts Championships (Quebec City)

June 7, 2014 - Provincial Martial Arts Shuswap Open (Salmon Arm) 

Athletes placing in these events will receive an invitation to join Team Canada 2014 and earn the opportunity to compete at this year’s global event.  Further information on these and other qualifying events can be found on the CNMAA website at http://www.cnmaa.com/calendar/  . 

The 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Games will take place at the Richmond Olympic Oval September 3 to 7, 2014.  The Richmond Olympic Oval is a breathtaking venue on the banks of the Fraser River located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada and is a winner of the Institution of Structural Engineers top award for Sports or Leisure Structures.
