2013 WORLD MARTIAL ARTS GAMES RETURN TO BREGENZ, AUSTRIA

AUSTRIA WILL HOST THE TRANSITIONAL GAMES

August 13, 2012 Bregenz, Austria  – The 2012 World Martial Arts Games will return to Bregenz, Austria.  The the games will be held at the Bregenz Schendlingerhalle, September 5 to 8, 2013. Austrian National WMAG Director Harald Falladori will oversee this year’s games. 

“We are very proud that Austria has been given the opportunity to host the 2013 World Martial Arts Games“, says Harald Falladori, Austrian National WMAG Director, “Our team will do everything possible to make this an event to remember!“

"The Austrians moved very quickly to salvage the 6th WMAG after Carl Emery of Switzerland cancelled the games, due to some unusual circumstances", said Ken Marchtaler, WMAGC President, "After putting together a spectacular event, the WMAGC congress unanimously approved giving Austria the opportunity to host next years games, which could prove to be termed the Transitional Games"

Bregenz is located near the beautiful Lake Constance (Bodensee) at the triangle of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. It is close to many attractions including the famous Schloss Neuschwanstein (Winter Castle).  It is the perfect place to host this years games.

The World Martial Arts Games Committee (WMAGC) is a non-profit society formed in August 2005. It is the supreme authority of the World Martial Arts Games Movement. Its role is to promote top-level sport as well as sport for all in accordance with the World Martial Arts Games Charter. It ensures the regular celebration of the World Martial Arts Games and strongly encourages appropriate sports ethics and the protection of athletes.
